Story: Skateboarding is done using a four wheeled piece of wood. The modern skateboarding originated in California in the late 1950s. A skateboard is propelled by pushing with one foot while the other remains on the board or by pumping in structures such as a pool or kickflip. A skateboard can also be used by simply standing on the deck while on a downward slope and allowing gravity to propel the board and rider. The game is proving popular with both young and older people here in London where many parks and places have got a specially designed skateboarding centres.
